Mantua is warming up! This year, from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th September, the Gran Premio Nuvolari will make Mantua one of the main places of the Mille Miglia, the historical open-road race which goes from Brescia to Rome and back again to Brescia.
Created to honour the memory of races legend Tazio Nuvolari, who died in 1953 but is still loved and remembered by all speed enthusiasts and lovers of races, the GP Nuvolari is one of the most anticipated events of the city of Mantua.
The GP, which starts and arrives in Mantua, will see historical cars built between the 1919 and 1969 competing on a 1050 km track. The circuit develops along one of the most beautiful panoramic routes of Italy and touches important cities such as Forte dei Marmi and Rimini. Moreover, the competition will go through real temples of speed like the San Martino del Lago circuit, the Riccardo Paletti Varano racetrack and the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit of Imola.
The nerve centre of the event will be Piazza Sordello, which during the days of the event will host the number 1 car of Tazio Nuvolari, a 1939 Auto Union Type D. The appointment for the award ceremony is on Sunday at the seventeenth century Teatro Bibiena. It will be the occasion to celebrate once more the winners of this thrilling event on wheels. An event not to be missed!
